Christmas Lights Switch-on

Maryport Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday 27 November this year. The Town Council will be making arrangements for a programme of family entertainment, with children at its heart of course, to be held during the afternoon of that day, leading up to the big switch-on at 5pm. Further details to follow!

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

In 2022, Her Majesty the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952 at the age of 25. The occasion will be marked nationally in a number of ways, culminating in the Platinum Jubilee Weekend, to be held from 2 to 5 June.

Best Kept Garden & Containers

In the earlier part of the Summer, the Council invited members of the community to nominate either their own or their neighbours’ gardens & flower displays for an award in the Council’s Best Kept Garden & Containers competition 2021.

Covid Pandemic Support

The Town Council is giving recognition to those people & organisations who have gone above & beyond in helping others in the community though the covid pandemic. The Mayor Peter Kendall will be making presentations to those whom the Town Council believe deserve recognition for their contributions in providing support for people less able to help themselves.
