Maryport Town Council, working in partnership with Netherhall School, Maryport Church of England Junior School, Ewanrigg Junior School and Our Lady & St Patricks Primary School, with the help of funding from Allerdale Borough Council, is arranging to re-vamp and refresh the walkway from Senhouse Street through to Mill Street car park in the coming months.
Maryport Town Council has agreed to allocate community grant funding received in 2016/17 from Allerdale Borough Council.
A presentation took place, prior to the Council meetings held on 28 November 2016, for Mr Brian Mossom of Maryport, in recognition of his role over the last 15 years administering the Poppy Appeal for the British Legion in the Maryport Area.
In the week leading up to Christmas, Maryport Mayor Linda Radcliffe visited Solway House, Parkside, The Dales, Allanby House, Riverside and Granville Court Care Homes, as well as Maryport Cottage Hospital, to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to the residents.
