Maryport Town Council works alongside Maryport Extended Schools Partnership and attends the local Schools' Council Meetings, which is a group of representative pupils from each of the primary schools in the area. The children come up with ideas for fundraising and fun.
A Best Kept Garden & Container Competition is held in the Summer. Gardens & displays of all shapes & sizes in the town help to make a striking visual impact, especially during the summer months, & the Town Council recognises this through a local competition which recognises the value of well maintained gardens & encourages a friendly rivalry.
During 2014 Maryport Town Council worked alongside the County Council to repair the War Memorials in Maryport & Flimby.
